too lazy to upload anymore pix.. so i shall just mention some movies/shows i've caught recently..
First up, managed to catch Beauty World last month with ian, aud and kenrick.. the sets were really quite elaborate and were really varied and pretty.. the costumes, were super colorful and complimented the backdrops very well..

the story well, was unchanged as far as i could remember.. haha, and i still dun like the ending.. :p overall, it was quite enjoyable, it was sorta reliving the memories of tt particular star awards charity show, once upon a time.. haha. about the singing, i felt tt the male lead (daren?) was not very good when he was doing his solo bits - his accent was strange and he was just quite pitchy.. surprisingly, he was really good when he harmonized with the lead actress (elena?).

also caught the movie American Gangsters, which in my opinion was fantastic despite it being uber long. the acting by Denzel Washington and Russel Crowe was heartfelt and convincing. and it is always nice to learn about interesting true stories of the past.. :) the drug lords in the US, how a black man managed to change the face of the drug mafia back then and how these drugs really took its toll on the society. the extent of corruption was also astounding and unbelievable. this drug syndicate was only busted due to the russel crowe's character, one of the few men in the movie with absolute integrity, and because they managed to exploit the human weaknesses of fear.

another really long movie, with an equally long time to boot would be The Assassination of Jesse by the Coward Robert Ford. i was kinda sad we were watching this movie in a less than desirably big cinema. the zoomed out pan shots would have been fantastic on a larger screen, as i can only imagine. but still, i was awed by the great cinematography in this film. the plot was too slow moving for my liking, esp at the start. the way the characters interact though, was a delight to watch, esp since the acting was up to mark.. :) casey affleck delivered a really good piece this time round..


ok, and here comes my favorite of the bunch with an equally long title.. :) Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. I understand this movie is adapted from a musical. though the pieces in the film aren't exactly the nicest sounding, they really do bring out the ghastly tone of the film. coupled with johnny depp's ghastly and helena's haunting vocals. the greyish blue tone that the movie was presented on screen definitely compliments the general feel of the movie. i liked the starting of the movie esp, the semi animated like thingie which shows the trail of blood flowing - though u dun realize what that is all abt initially. its just too bad the ending wasn't quite as tragic as it could've been.. :p but its still quite tragic for sure.. but yes, it is a fantastic collaboration between johnny depp and tim burton. a must watch in my opinion!

there are some other films that i've caught, but they weren't as good, so i shall be lazy and not bother with them. Happy CNY every one :)
